Mentality Reset.
Replace the politics of survival with a culture of dignity, discipline and shared purpose.
Most of what looks like political dysfunction in Nigeria is actually mental dysfunction expressed at scale. Decades of scarcity, fear and broken promises have shaped a public mentality that treats survival as the only honest goal and cynicism as the only honest posture. That mentality cannot build a country.
What needs to shift
- From every-man-for-himself to citizens who own a shared standard.
- From short-term hustle to long-horizon ambition.
- From cynicism as protection to discipline as protection.
- From ethnicity as identity to citizenship as duty.
- From noise as participation to evidence as participation.
How the reset is done
Mentality reset is not a slogan or a sermon. It is the patient work of reshaping standards in the institutions where mentality is actually formed — the home, the school, the kindred, the workplace, the town union, the faith community, the profession. The Civic Reset Project organises around these places, not around elections.
